Welcome to Express Travel

It is with deepest sorrow and regret that I announce the sudden and unexpected death of Ian Robertson, the man behind the success of Express Travel, at the age of 48 in the early hours of Saturday morning (12th July 2008).

I have known Ian for around 30 years and he became my closest and most loyal friend and mentor over the past 25 years, and has supported me through some very tough times in my life. Many many other people have also been touched by this remarkable, humorous and insightful man, who was one of the most reliable, altruistic, selfless and driven persons I have ever had the excellent fortune to have known.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Ian's wife, Sal, their children, Hayley, Danielle, Paul and Adam, Ian's parents, Mary and Dave, and his sisters, Julie and Kay.

Due to this unfortunate announcement Express Travel will not be taking anymore bookings or requests for quotations.

If you have already booked a trip with Express Travel please be aware that your trip, as far as is logistically possible, will still go ahead.

In most cases your trip will be handled by one of Ian's many friends who own and operate their own coach and minibus companies. However, if your trip cannot be covered then someone will contact you by phone in due course.

In honour of Ian and his pride in Express Travel, the remainder of the website will remain 'as is' for a short period of time and the Feedback form will remain active should anyone wish me to pass on your sympathies and comments to Ian's family.

Our coaches and mini-buses are all regularly serviced, cleaned and maintained to the highest standards for your safety and comfort.

Corporate events, school pickups and trips, family and group outings, local and long distance contracts, sightseeing and local visitor attractions - we cover them all.
